Life Is Fragile

Life is a fragile gift to be cherished.

Last week, while playing rec league basketball, a friend/teammate of mine collapsed onto the court and his heart stopped beating. After an AED administered defibrillation, and CPR was administered right there on the court, my friend was transported to Heber Valley Medical Center and then flown to Utah Valley Medical Center where he was stabilized. He is now home with his family awaiting further treatment.

While I stood and watched the event unfold before me, my mind turned the children and spouse of my friend. What would they do without a father/husband? My mind then reflected to my own children and spouse. What would they do without a father/husband? What would I do without them? A somber moment.

Life is a fragile gift to be cherished. Kiss your loved ones and tell them you love them. Tell your children how proud you are of them, let them know. Tell your spouse how thankful you are for her/him. Call your parents and tell them thank you for all they have done and sacrificed on your behalf.

The focus of my law practice is estate planning. I chose estate planning because it allows me to provide something for my clients that I believe in. Estate planning is for families.
